Nina Park
Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong2023
Chinachem Group revitalized the under-utilized wood fossil park in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong, transforming it into Nina Park to fulfill the late Mrs. Nina Wang’s wish to benefit the community. Open to the public for free, Nina Park has become a popular urban oasis and educational attraction, featuring Asia’s largest collection of wood fossils. The park blends nature, art, and science, offering an innovative “edutainment” experience and inviting exploration of history spanning millions of years.
The park also emphasizes environmental responsibility and sustainability. Native plants are used to preserve local vegetation and support wildlife, enhancing biodiversity. The design incorporates rainwater recycling for irrigation and water features. The overall development ensures social, environmental, and economic sustainability, creating a green space that promotes healthy living. Seasonal plantings of evergreen, deciduous, and flowering trees, along with shrubs and groundcovers, create a vibrant green heart in the urban environment.
