Danville Viewing Platform
Danville Park is a 26-hectare linear recreation facility sculpted from a construction landform which originally averaged 24 meters above Highway 410, between Highway 401 and Courtney Park Drive. The new elevated park currently accommodates two international cricket ovals and a large toboggan hill. The north pinnacle reaches an elevation of 213.20m. The Greater Toronto Airport Authority, in conjunction with the City of Mississauga, sponsored an airplane viewing platform. This feature aligns with Pearson Airport runways. The design incorporates a tribute to the Avro Arrow and includes runway markings and interpretive signage using architectural stone from the former A.V. Roe headquarters. This landform now provides valuable recreation facilities and a heritage interpretive site from a once derelict waste pile. It also provides the highest landform in the City of Mississauga.
